Terms and Conditions
These terms form the agreement between you and Cannen. By creating an account you accept them.
Last updated: 4 August 2026
1. Who we are
Cannen is operated by Cannen Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17381013, whose registered office is at 29 Cambridge Road West, Farnborough, GU14 6QA.
Contact: [email protected]
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 to use Cannen.
- You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, resold or transferred.
3. Plans, billing and price changes
- Cannen offers a free Starter plan and paid Member and Pro subscriptions, billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period - you keep access until then, and we do not pro-rate part-months.
- If we change our prices, existing subscribers keep their current price for the remainder of the period they have already paid for, and we will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies.
- If a payment fails we may suspend access until it is resolved.
4. Cancelling and refunds
Cannen is a digital subscription service. Your access begins as soon as you subscribe, and you use it across the period you have paid for rather than receiving a single item you could send back. Subscription payments are therefore not refundable.
You can cancel whenever you like, from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment and keeps your access open until the end of the month or year you have already paid for - the same way other digital subscriptions work. Nothing is cut off early, and you are never charged again after you cancel.
None of this affects your statutory rights if the service is faulty, not as described, or not provided with reasonable care and skill.
5. What Cannen is - and is not
Cannen provides education, structured guidance, community and software tools. It is important to be clear about the limits of that:
- We do not guarantee that you will get a job, an interview, a promotion, a pay rise, or any particular outcome. Nobody honestly can. Hiring depends on your work, your market and factors none of us control.
- We are not an employment agency or employment business within the meaning of the Employment Agencies Act 1973. We do not advertise vacancies, find work for you, or supply you to employers, and we are not party to any application you make. Cannen teaches you how to run your own job search; it does not run it for you.
- Nothing on Cannen is legal, financial or immigration advice. Salary figures and market information are general guidance, not a valuation of your situation.
6. AI tools
- Our AI tools generate suggestions. They can be wrong, incomplete, or phrased in ways that do not suit you. You are responsible for checking anything you send to an employer.
- Never submit a CV containing information you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens to it.
- Fair-use limits apply per plan and are enforced. Do not attempt to circumvent them through multiple accounts or automated requests.
7. Community rules
When posting on Cannen, do not:
- Harass, abuse, demean or discriminate against anyone.
- Post confidential information belonging to an employer, or personal data about someone else without their agreement.
- Advertise, recruit or spam.
- Share content you do not have the right to share.
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it within Cannen so the community features work. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
8. Our content
The Career Map, sprints, resource library, frameworks and the software itself are our intellectual property. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use them. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or publish our materials, or use them to build a competing product.
9. Availability
We work to keep Cannen available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance, and we depend on third-party providers whose outages are outside our control. Cannen is actively developed, so features are added, changed and occasionally retired. If we permanently withdraw a paid feature we will give reasonable notice by email, and you can cancel as set out above.
10. Ending the agreement
- You may cancel or delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close your account if you materially break these terms, and will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.
- Deleting your account permanently erases your data - see our Privacy Policy.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Cannen. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
